Reno Omokri, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, has responded to rumors of his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress. Additionally, it has been speculated that he is seeking an appointment within President Bola Tinubu’s government.
These rumors have gained traction due to Reno’s defense of President Tinubu’s academic records, which he believes to be authentic.
Some reports had also claimed Reno has betrayed his principal, Atiku Abubakar, by repeatedly defending President Tinubu whom the former is challenging his election victory in court.
While Mr Tinubu’s academic records in Chicago State University have continued to raise series of concerns even as Reno maintains that the Nigerian leader attended the institution and graduated in flying colors, commenters believe the President is parading a fake certificate and academic records which allegedly have female as the gender.
In reaction to the many speculations on Tuesday, Reno said: “I will not lie and say Bola Tinubu did not go to a school I know he went to, so you can love me and celebrate me. If you like, say I am hustling for an appointment. That shows the level of your intellect. So, you think Tinubu, as strategic as he is, will give someone who called him a drug lord in front of Chatham House a post? Look, your low mentality is your problem. It is not my duty to appease it.
“Bola Tinubu, the male person currently occupying the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was admitted, attended, and graduated from Chicago State University. All these useless sites are just taking advantage of your Buhari-Is-A-Clone-From-Sudan gullibility. The word gender did not even come up yesterday in the court in Chicago. Go and look at the transcripts. These sites just used it because they know the types of I-Will-Believe-Anything-Negative-About-My-Enemy people they are dealing with. What Tinubu’s lawyers said is that his private academic records should not be released.
“Let me ask you a question: Will you allow your private academic records to be released to your political opponents when it is not required by law? In which country have you ever seen a President or Presidential candidate release his private academic records? Which candidate in the last election released his personal academic record? None! One of them was even so ashamed of the class of university degree he got that he chose to tender only his WAEC certificate to the INEC.
“All you guys know how to do is insult and believe silly things. To avoid groupthink and herd mentality by reasoning critically and independently is forbidden to you. Continue, let me see where it will lead you.
“And to those saying Tinubu paid me, if it is true, may I reduce each time you make that allegation. But if it is a lie, may I increase in wealth and fulfilment each time you accuse me. In Yeshua’s Name.”
