Oseni Rufai, a journalist for Arise Television, expressed his disapproval of President Bola Tinubu’s request for a federal court in Chicago to prevent Chicago State University from disclosing his academic records to his political rival, Atiku Abubakar.
Rufai believes that this action undermines the dignity of the Nigerian presidency. Additionally, Rufai notes that the American media is reporting discrepancies in Tinubu’s academic records, which reflects poorly on Nigeria.
Oseni Rufai also questioned why the president said he will suffer an irreparable damage if his records are released.

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu cited irreparable damage as his reason for requesting that a U.S judge block Chicago State University from revealing the gender on his certificate and admission records.
While he agreed to release the certificate to Atiku Abubakar, he opposed the release of the aforementioned data, which has led to speculation that he is identified as female in the documents.
The Peoples Gazette reported that Mr. Tinubu made this request as part of an ongoing legal battle in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.
The case was brought by Atiku, who believes Mr Tinubu was not eligible to contest the presidential election in February 2023.
Most worrisome, a former aide to ex- President Goodluck Jonathan, Jackson Ude alleged yesterday that the name Amoda Sangodele is the former name of President Bola Tinubu, and it is what is documented in the FBI files that will be released next month.
Citing an information he said was provided to him by U. S sources, Jackson Ude claimed Tinubu was twice jailed in the United States under the name Amoda Sangodele.
He noted that additional information has revealed that President Tinubu spent a combined five years in U.S Jail as Yekini Amoda Sangodele for the two times he went in for narcotic crimes and credit card fraud in the late 60s and early 1970s.
In a post on his verified X handle, Jackson Ude wrote: “Bola Tinubu was twice jailed in the United States under the name Amoda Sangodele in what is documented in FBI files that would be released in October, according to information provided to me by U. S sources.”
