In the past few days, I have taken time to invest my time looking at the life of the internationally renowned rich and famous through TikTok and Instagram podcast interviews. To such a great iron of mine to find out that we would think money sold all their problem, or that they are better off with ridiculous money. Whoever said too much of everything is not good for you was indeed wiser. In fact, I recall going through my reads, in Ecclesiastes, the writer, Solomon had this to say:- too much honey is not good for you.
Even so in his life, being arguably the wisest and richest man to ever live, according to your faith was often recorded making commentary about the vanity of life and showed great discontent in the midst of all his riches.
I came across the TikTok podcast, @Alphamotivationo, where the podcaster interviews the inventor and founder of Facebook, now called Meta, Mike Zuckerberg, and has him answer the question, “What is the meaning of life?”, and to my ludicrous surprise, Mark grew a very pale face, seemingly so predicament and perturbed as one who just been dumped by their partner out of a blue.
To myself, I asked, “Then what are all those billions good for?”, why aspire to have so much if you don’t know what to use them for? Anyway, I hope Marks comes to a revelation knowledge of the meaning of life that it shows in his demeanor, that without hesitancy he can just answer such a question. A second incident from the same podcaster was when this podcaster had an interview with another arguably the richest man on earth right now, Elon Musk, who is, by the way, our native-born, (South African) FYI. Elon’s was asked the question, “ Are you lonely”, we all intuitively know that fact that what you say with your mouth is as good as your facial demeanor, and by this I mean, Elon sounded very empty on the inside, even to a point of mentioning how many times he goes to bed alone, at night, but again the context of the question was based on emotional loneliness not physical however, we know that what is on the inside, eventually comes out.
And I can mouth-fully assume that his physical loneliness is a result of emotional loneliness. The question is still open-ended, what is the meaning of life, when the people we almost all covet for their social status still do not know what is the meaning of it?
