President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria expressed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of Namibian President Hage Geingob. He referred to President Geingob as a “veteran in the struggle for democracy” and a “proponent of good governance.”
In a statement released by the State House, Tinubu extended his sympathies to the Namibian government and people. He acknowledged that this is a difficult time for Africa when visionary leaders who believe in the common destiny of the continent are needed the most. Tinubu emphasized the importance of strengthening bonds across borders and spreading the tendrils of cooperation across all fields of human endeavour.
Tinubu assured Namibia that his thoughts and prayers, and indeed those of Nigerians, are with them during this time of mourning.
