Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, cautioned officials of the Administration against hindering rural road projects within the area councils, in a news published by Nigerian Tribune.
At the inauguration of the 7.2km Gaba-Tokulo-Kaima road in Bwari Area Council, Wike pledged to revive all abandoned Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) projects identified by the council chairman.
Expressing disdain for bureaucratic delays, Wike emphasized his administration’s intolerance for file procrastination by civil servants.
He adamantly stated his refusal to endorse contract awards without available funds, condemning it as a major deception.
Wike called for collaboration among traditional leaders, residents, and contractors to ensure project execution.
He denounced the practice of initiating projects only to abandon them shortly after, promising a shift in project delivery timelines.
He said:
“Tinubu asks me to tell Bwari Area Council people that all they requested should be given to them; therefore, all your requests on the abandoned projects which were initially to be carried out by FCDA, I can assure you that, by the directive of the president, go home and sleep with your two eyes closed; those projects must be restarted.
