In an interview with THISDAY correspondent, the former two-time governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, spoke about the developments in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
with and emphasised on the need to unite Nigerians in search for a new leadership ahead of the 2027 general election in the country
While he was reacting over claims that the PDP as it is now, is in the pocket of FCT Minister, former governor Nyesom Wike,
Sule Lamido said that Nyesom Wike though has huge potential, but he is not properly refined.
He said,
“When he said he paid money to the party and bla bla bla, I say do you buy wrapper for your mama ? Before she gave birth to you, was she wearing wrapper ? Before she gave birth to you, was she going naked ?
So before Wike started, was the party naked ? He met a party that was established, which was being financed, so financing your party because you are a governor is not a big deal, and if you do not support your party, who will you support ?”
Further talking, Sule Lamido said he doesn’t think Nyesom Wike should pocket the party, because he can’t pocket his own mother. He alleged that before Nyesom Wike, the PDP was being financed.
