The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed his delight at Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s decision to defect to the ruling party. Ganduje described Ubah as the most important politician he has been able to lure into the party since he took over the chairmanship of the APC. Speaking at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, where the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, officially presented Senator Ubah as the senator representing Anambra South, Ganduje commended Ubah for his enormous political influence in Anambra politics.
Ganduje expressed his concern about the lack of unity in the South-East geopolitical zone, where five states are controlled by four different political parties. He believes that the defection of Senator Ubah, a political juggernaut and a swing politician who has the ability to influence election outcomes, will help to liberate the Southeast. According to Ganduje, the APC is poised to start a revolution in the South-East, and with the addition of Senator Ubah, they hope to attract more members to the party.
