Nigerians have put President Bola Tinubu and the security agencies to task after political thugs led by a top aide of the chairman of Etche Local Government Area were captured on Update destroying arrangements for a reception by supporters of Government Simi Fubara in the area.
The reception in Etche was supposed to commemorate the Supreme Court victory of Governor Fubara in the election petition filed against him.
The Update clips showed political thugs who took time destroying the canopies that had been arranged for the reception. It is not known if the governor was supposed to be present in Etche for the reception.
Following the incident, Nigerians are posing questions to President Tinubu as to the motif of the thugs especially after the thugs sang praises of his minister, Nyesom Wike following the mayhem.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Etche Local Government Area who is a loyalist of Wike has dissociated himself from the mayhem despite viral reports that his top aide led the attack to disrupt the reception for Fubara.
