The Oluwo of Iwo Kingdom, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi has stated that he is covered by God’s protection and not by any deity.
Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, who is known for his outspokenness stated this a week after two traditional rulers were ambushed and killed in Ekiti State.
They were Oba David Ogunsakin, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti; and Oba Olatunde Olusola, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti.
Daily Trust reported that the revered and well-respected traditional ruler said;
“I am telling you right here that no one would dare attempt to kidnap or mark me for assassination.”
He noted;
“I am covered by God’s protection, not by any deity or gods. I am using this opportunity to call on my colleague monarchs to stop putting their hopes on deities and return everything to the Almighty God whom they represent.”
