A woman named Mariam Muftaudeen has publicly accused Akinsanya Musiliu, the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State, of endangering her life and that of her daughter, who she claims is his biological child.
In a post on her Instagram account, Muftaudeen said that she had a secret affair with Musiliu, popularly known as MC Oluomo, which resulted in the birth of her daughter. She alleged that Musiliu has been making life difficult for her ever since, and has refused to take care of his daughter’s welfare.
She also claimed that she has contacted some of Musiliu’s associates and friends to intervene in the matter but to no avail. She said that she has been solely responsible for her daughter’s needs, and all she wants is for Musiliu to be a responsible father.
Muftaudeen further alleged that Musiliu has been sending people to attack her and that she fears for her life and that of her daughter. She said that she is not afraid of being cyberbullied, because only the living can be bullied. She appealed to Musiliu to stop threatening her and to acknowledge God’s supremacy.
“Oluomo, don’t kill me or my daughter. You have a lot of children but I have this. Yes, you are powerful and influential but God is supreme. Be responsible for your daughter’s welfare. Stop sending people to attack me! Even if you have not killed me, you are already killing me. My mental health is in a mess, my blood pressure rises every day…. Because of you, I live in fear,” she wrote.
Muftaudeen also shared a screenshot of her post on her Instagram story, and tagged some media outlets and celebrities, presumably to draw attention to her plight.
Musiliu has not responded to the allegations as of the time of writing this report. He is a prominent figure in the NURTW, a transport union that has a reputation for violence and political influence in Lagos State.
