Super Eagles’ outstanding goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has expressed his desire for the national team to face South Africa in the semi-finals. Playing for Chippa United in the South African Premier League provides him with a deep understanding of South African football.
Most of the players in the Bafana Bafana squad participate in their domestic league, allowing Nwabali to be familiar with them. He has performed exceptionally well in the 2023 AFCON, conceding only one goal in five games.
Now, he eagerly anticipates testing himself against South Africa in the semi-finals on February 7. However, Bafana Bafana first needs to overcome Cape Verde in the quarterfinals tonight, February 3.
According to Punch Newspaper, Nwabali shared his thoughts, stating,
“Cape Verde and South Africa are both formidable teams, but I really want to play against South Africa. I want to assess how my defense performs against them. Yes, most of their players know me, and I know them.”
This football narrative has its twists and turns, making it a compelling yet intricate story.
