The Governor of Ekiti state, Biodun Oyebanji has advised Residents of Ekiti state to always be vigilant and report suspicious movements in their domain to law enforcement agencies.
AIT report that, the Governor said this while reacting to the release of the kidnapped Ekiti school children.
Recall that Nine persons including five children and four staff members were kidnapped in Emure Ekiti.
The children and their teachers were released in the wee hours on Sunday, February 4th, and brought to the Elemure palace around 4am.
Nonetheless, it was stated that the school bus driver perished while in the abductors’ care.
Governor Oyebanji has instructed Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Oyebanji Filani to transport the children to the state Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti for appropriate medical care and post-traumatic therapy, in light of the children’s horrific experience in the kidnappers’ den.
The governor, who stood guard alongside Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele till three in the morning to guarantee the children’s release, expresses gratitude to his fellow governors, previous state governors, religious authorities, and traditional elders for their support.
He also expresses gratitude to the state House of Assembly and members of the Ekiti State Caucus in the National Assembly for their support.
Additionally, Governor Oyebanji reiterates his administration’s resolve to eradicate crime and criminality from the state by creating an unlivable environment for criminals acting in any capacity.
The governor further promises that those responsible for the deaths of the two Ekiti obas will be apprehended and subjected to the full force of the law.
He exhorts the state’s citizens to exercise caution and notify the authorities of any questionable activity occurring in their neighbourhoods.
