The Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has expressed his belief that President Bola Tinubu has good intentions for Nigeria, but his appointees are undermining the administration’s efforts. Onyema is frustrated with the challenges his airline faces despite the support it provides to the economy and Nigerians.
He remains optimistic that President Tinubu will overcome the country’s challenges, despite criticisms from Nigeria. Onyema compared Tinubu’s current situation to when he became the governor of Lagos and faced similar opposition. However, Tinubu outperformed his predecessor and delivered excellent results. Onyema believes that Tinubu has the vision, goodwill, and good intentions to help Nigeria, but he needs the right people to work with to achieve his goals.
Onyema also emphasized the importance of indigenous investments in stabilizing and succeeding Nigeria’s economy. Foreign investments are good, but indigenous investments provide real jobs and can save the country when the economy is down.
Onyema beat his chest and said he was happy for what he had done for the country in the last few days. Air Peace has saved millions of dollars or billions of Naira for the country. They reduced the Business class flight to London from N17 million to N4 million and the Economy class flight from N6 million to N1.2 million. Additionally, Air Peace gave students a further 15% discount on the N1.2 million fare.
