The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Umuahia struck out two motions filed by PDP petitioner Chief Okey Ahiwe against Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party.
Lagos Reporters reports that the tribunal, in a ruling delivered on Friday, held that the motions were incompetent and lacked merit.
The tribunal is currently delivering its verdict on the complete petition, which includes the one filed by High Chief Ikechi Emenike of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The petitioner from the PDP is contesting the results of the Abia State governorship election held on March 18, claiming that there were numerous irregularities and malpractices.
The petitioner from the APC is contesting the election results, claiming to be the legitimate victor.
