Salihu Lukman, the Former Director General of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), has accused the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of being insensitive to the high cost of living that Nigerians are facing. In an article titled “Heartbreaking Reflections,” published over the weekend, the APC chieftain urged Tinubu to demonstrate his true democratic and progressive attributes by taking urgent action. Lukman further encouraged leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to push Tinubu’s administration to become more responsive and to stop behaving like a military regime. He claimed that many of the party’s elected and appointed representatives in government are behaving like tyrants and emperors, imposing their decisions on citizens and reacting with insults and abuses when criticized.
Similarly, during a briefing by the National Economic Team to the Joint Senate Committee on Finance, National Planning, and Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions in Abuja, the senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, called on the National Economic Team to provide workable solutions to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians beyond the economic indices.
