Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly, has voiced deep apprehension regarding the future of Nigerian youths.
As reported by PUNCH, his concerns were articulated during an impromptu visit to the Ned/GKE Skills Acquisition Center in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
Expressing his observations during the assessment tour, Senator Nwoko disclosed the critical role of skill acquisition centers in empowering Nigerian youths economically and fostering self-reliance.
He emphasized the important need to equip young citizens with vocational expertise to navigate the challenges of the contemporary job market.
He said
“I’m more concerned about the future of Nigerian youths and citizens generally,” Senator Nwoko stated. “The skills acquisition center will provide the necessary training for them and make them economically empowered and self-reliant.”
Highlighting the importance of his engagement with the center, Senator Nwoko pledged his commitment to supporting its operations financially. He affirmed his dedication to ensuring that more Nigerian youths, particularly those from Delta North, benefit from the center’s initiatives.
Impressed by the caliber of facilities and standards upheld at the skills acquisition center, Senator Nwoko commended the management for their dedication and efforts in fostering youth development. He lauded their commitment to providing comprehensive training programs across diverse vocational and technical disciplines.
Mr. Emmanuel Okocha, the President of Ned/GKE Skills Acquisition Centre, expressed gratitude for Senator Nwoko’s endorsement and financial assistance. He emphasized the important role of mentorship in shaping the establishment of the center, highlighting Senator Nwoko’s instrumental support.
