Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has mandated immediate compliance from vehicles and spare part dealers with the state’s 2018 transport sector law, specifically regarding operational fees
. The Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) overseeing their operations is directed to align its fees with the provisions of the Lagos State Transport Sector Law of 2018.
The Governor set a one-month compliance period, and the enforcement of the new fees is set to begin on March 1, 2024.
The prescribed fees for motor vehicle dealers and spare part dealers will be adjusted accordingly, with non-compliance leading to prosecution and potential fines or confiscation of business premises.
