According to The Jerusalem Post report, the President of United States of America, Joe Biden in a Memorandum issued on Thursday has given the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu 45 days ultimatum to submit reports on global law violation or loose military aid.
This was coming after the Zionist state resumed in its plan to topple Hamas terrorist groups in Rafah. Netanyahu has vowed to continue with every measure to ensure that Hamas incurred irreparable losses in the ongoing war. However, the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, has warned that carrying out an operation in Rafah without enough plan will be disasterious.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden has directed all countries receiving military aid, including Israel, to immediately give evidence beyond doubt that they are following the laid down enforcement regulations and guidelines on international humanitarian and human rights laws.
And warned that if Netanyahu failed to prove such within 45 days, he may risk losing all military logistics and support amid the ongoing war against Palestinian Hamas. Global leaders continue to heap tension on Israeli IDF to take extreme caution in invading Rafah where report claimed over 1.5m Palestinian civilians are currently taking shelter as a result of displacement from the ongoing war in Gaza.
This becomes pertinent because the report alleged that the US authorities had in recent times since the war began, been unable to access whether the waring allies are following international war rules or not. Regarding the foregoing, the US lawmakers have written to the president to immediately initiate procedures asking Israel to submit reports as allegations of excessive human rights violations increased. The statement reads in part
“We write today regarding your administration’s ongoing weapons transfers to the Israeli government despite considerable evidence that these transfers are flagrantly violating American and international law and being used in the commission of war crimes,”
the letter to Biden reported. In the letter, a January 5 comment from White House National Security spokesman John Kirby was quoted, in which he said he wasn’t aware of any assessments being done by the US government to analyze Israel’s compliance with international law.
