Yahaya begins move to displace Ganduje as APC chairman

The former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is reportedly making moves to replace the current national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Ganduje. Campaign posters promoting Bello’s interest in the position have been spotted in the streets of Abuja since Monday.

This development comes after Ganduje was confirmed as the APC’s national chairman by the National Executive Council in August 2023, replacing Abdullahi Adamu. Despite not having served a full year of his four-year tenure, it is unclear whether the APC will hold another election for party positions. As of now, Kingsley Fanwo, the former commissioner for information under Bello’s administration, has not responded to calls and messages by the Peoples Gazette regarding this situation.
