In a recent announcement, the World Bank declared its intention to ramp up financial assistance to Nigeria, commending the economic reforms spearheaded by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

According to Arise Television, during a courtesy visit to the Aso Rock Villa, World Bank Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde, emphasized the fruitful nature of the partnership between Nigeria and the World Bank, affirming a deeper commitment to advancing the nation’s development objectives.

 

“Our collaboration with Nigeria has been comprehensive and very fruitful,”

Bjerde remarked, showing the importance of ongoing engagement in critical areas of Nigeria’s developmental agenda.

 

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the productive outcomes of the recent two-day meeting of Western and Central Africa Ministers of Finance, which Nigeria co-hosted with the World Bank.

 

This announcement signals a significant stride towards bolstering Nigeria’s economic resilience and fostering sustainable development initiatives.
