The Presidency has revealed that it would be difficult for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to pay government workers a minimum wage of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000).
In a report from Daily Post, this was disclosed of recent by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy while stressing that some State governments are still unable to pay the current minimum wage.
Onanuga said:
” The last time when the wage was increased to Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000) per month; till today, only ten (10) State governments are paying out of Thirty six (36). The rest have not paid the whole rate or maybe they have just improved a bit “.
He added:
” But according to the people who have monitored it, Twenty Six (26) State governments are unable to comply. Whatever the government wants to do now, even if we increase wages to 100,000 naira, will the Federal Government be able to pay? “.
