The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday disclosed that contrary to the insinuations in many quarters that it is always after internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys, it is also after corrupt politicians who are also feeling its fangs.
There have been insinuations from many quarters, especially among the youths, that the anti graft agency is always after internet fraudsters, while alleging that after arresting the Yahoo Boys, that are made to part with certain parts of the money they made through internet related frauds.
They also insinuate that many politicians who actually stole a lot of money belonging to the country are treated with kid gloves while some of them are seen as untouchables, especially after they leave power.
However, apparently debunking the insinuations, the EFCC disclosed on its Facebook wall on Saturday that it is not after Yahoo Boys alone, as it added that even politicians are feeling the stone it is throwing regarding the various arrests it is making.
The EFCC wrote: “EFCC is not after Yahoo Boys alone. Even politicians are feeling our stone. But if corruption is in your hormone, we will locate you down to your zone and recover everything one by one.”
The EFCC has always published on its social media handles arrests of citizens of the country who engage in financial crimes and other financially-related offences, with many of the cases published being internet-related while they have also secured convictions of some of the internet fraudsters.
