Reports by Vanguard on Saturday, February 3, 2024 indicated that Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has casted his vote on Saturday at Ward 08, Polling Unit 014, Mercy Eneli Street, Elizabeth Fower Primary School, Surulere Constituency I, in the ongoing rerun election into the House of Representatives of the constituency.
Accompanied by his wife, Gbajabiamila voted around 11 am amidst cheers from party members.
The primary candidate in the contest is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Fuad Laguda, aiming to succeed Gbajabiamila.
Addressing journalists after voting, Gbajabiamila commented on the security challenges in the country, emphasizing that they are not unique to Nigeria.
He expressed confidence in the administration’s efforts to address the issue, stating that President Tinubu is actively working on new strategies to tackle security challenges.
“The security challenges are not peculiar to Nigeria alone, but we are confident that necessary steps are being taken to solve the situation,” Gbajabiamila asserted.
