According to Daily Post, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, made this disclosure during a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, at the Rivers State Government House, in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
While speaking, Mr Ogalla disclosed that he visited him (Gov Fubara), to inform him about the relocation of headquarters of Naval Training Command from Lagos to Rivers State.
Furthermore, the Naval chief appreciated the Rivers State Governor, Simi Fubara and the people of Rivers State, for donating schools (Ambassador Nne Krukrubo Model Secondary School at Eleme in the Eleme Local Government Area, and the Model Secondary School, Egbelu in Oyigbo Local Government) to them.
In addition, Ogalla made it known that the Nigerian Navy, under his care, recently impounded 14 vessels caught with stolen crude oil in different parts of Niger Delta, disclosing that several individuals were also arrested.
While responding to Ogalla’s statement, the Rivers State Governor, Simi Fubara, encouraged the Naval Chief and the Nigerian Navy, urging them to be firm in the fight against all forms of economic sabotage, most especially crude oil theft in the Niger Delta region of the country.
In addition, the Governor expressed happiness over the positive results already recorded by the Navy in Rivers State and other Niger Delta States. He also promised that his administration will give them the required support.
