President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Wednesday he assured investors that his ongoing repositioning of the economy will receive a boost as he undertakes an intensified removal of all bottlenecks in the path of creating and efficiently running businesses in Nigeria, with a particular emphasis in service efficiency, tax review, and improved security.

Hosting Ade Adeola, Standard Chartered Bank’s Managing Director for Europe, Africa and Middle East Energy and Natural Resources, Chairman Tinubu said his administration was already working hard to make a difference in attracting investment.

“We are committed to strengthening the association, fostering efficiencies and creating a suitable environment for investors. We are already working hard on security. We will improve efficiency across the board for good entry and exit, and build a very favorable environment for growth and investment,” he said.
The president told the delegation that the tax reforms are being carried out with strict observance of best practices around the world, which will favor business for the collective prosperity of the nation.
“We are open for business. We believe in partnership and will work with all those interested in Nigeria’s progress,” he noted.

In his remarks, Mr. Adeola said the bank had been committed to enabling investment in Nigeria for many years while focusing on energy and natural resources with a large financing portfolio for the oil and gas industry.

“We are very excited about his leadership and want to reaffirm our commitment to Nigeria’s growth,” he said.
Mr. Adeola told the president that the bank supports investments of around $2 to $3 billion annually.
