The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and his key cabinet members have sought divine intervention in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s final verdict in the ongoing governorship election dispute. A video that has been circulating online captured Abiodun, his deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele, House Speaker Olakunle Oluomo, loyal aides, and other faithful members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) engaged in fervent prayer.
The group, led by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Toyin Taiwo, implored God’s favor for Abiodun and the party at the apex court. There is tension as the Supreme Court judgment is set to decide whether Abiodun will continue in office. The governor’s victory in the March 18th election is being challenged by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Ladi Adebutu, who maintain that Abiodun did not secure the majority of valid votes.
