The School Meals Coalition, a global organization consisting of 99 countries, recently commended the school feeding program of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. In its February newsletter, the coalition praised Tinubu’s dedication to providing nutritious meals to school children in Nigeria, and lauded him for his vision and determination as a forward-thinking leader who understands the value of human capital investment.
The coalition also recognized Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the issue of food insecurity among school children by implementing the Zero Hunger initiative. They added that government efforts to provide nutritious meals to students would not only improve their health and well-being but also contribute to their overall academic performance and attendance.
The newsletter also acknowledged the ongoing collaboration between the government, schools, and local communities in implementing the school feeding program, stating that such synergy would enable the program to reach more children and provide them with the necessary support to thrive both academically and physically.
As a member of the School Meals Coalition, Nigeria under President Tinubu’s leadership has set an example for other nations to follow in ensuring that no child goes hungry. The coalition expressed its commitment to continue partnering and collaborating with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Senior Special Assistant on School Feeding, Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, in furthering their shared goal of providing nutritious meals to school children.
