The Abuja Muslim Forum (AMF), which is an umbrella body of all Muslim organizations in Abuja and its environs, has called on individuals and organizations to support the forum’s 10-year development strategy titled ‘Repositioning Abuja Muslim Forum for strength and prosperity over the next decade.’
The leader of the forum, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Ajani, made the call in Abuja during a special dinner for executive members and other critical stakeholders where the strategic plan was formally unveiled. The 12-member executive committee, which was inaugurated on October 28, 2023, will oversee the affairs of the organization for the next three years from the date of inauguration.
During the event, Ajani lauded the efforts of Dr Abdussalam Yusuf and Dr Ja’afaru Mahmud for their contribution in preparing the strategic plan. He also announced that the executive had secured the consent and approval of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, to increase the board’s number to eight.
Ajani further stated that AMF had budgeted N61.4m for the short and medium-term activities, which would cover this year’s Ramadan activities, payment for land allocated to the forum in FCT, and the purchase of a Toyota Hiace Bus, among others.
Several prominent members of the forum, including Engr Tauheed Amusan, Mallam Idris Usman, Dr Shuaibu Idris, Ambassador Haliru Shuaibu, Barrister Yahaya Danyarna (SAN), and Alhaji Abubakar Adamu Evuti among others, pledged their commitment to the growth of the AMF. They also urged individual Muslims and organizations to contribute to the realization of the strategic plan to promote the well-being and progress of Muslims in the FCT and environs.
Finally, the event marked the establishment of the AMF Youth Wing, which is part of the “catch them young strategy” and succession plan for present and future generations of Muslims.
