An important development has been achieved in the fight against unlawful activities in the Malamulele region through the collaboration of the Malamulele Crime Intelligence and Public Order Policing units and members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Limpopo Provincial Vispol Task Team. Seven suspects were apprehended by the joint task force during a recent operation on charges of possession of suspected precious metals and unlicensed firearms.

The individuals targeted in the operation conducted in Malamulele, a municipality situated in the Limpopo province of South Africa, were those engaged in unlawful activities, specifically the unlawful possession of firearms and precious metals. The perpetrators were apprehended after the SAPS units conducted an exhaustive investigation and surveillance.
Captain Mamphaswa Seabi, a spokesman for the police, stated that the perpetrators were apprehended at various locations throughout Malamulele. “The apprehensions were executed subsequent to a community member providing information about suspicious activities in the vicinity,” stated Captain Seabi.
Police confiscated an unlicensed firearm and a significant quantity of precious metals believed to be gold during the course of the operation. Pending further investigation, the suspects were apprehended without incident and are presently in police custody.
The SAPS has expressed its gratitude to the community members whose information was utilised in the arrests. Captain Seabi emphasised the importance of community participation in the fight against crime and urged members of the public to continue assisting the police by reporting any suspicious activities.
It is anticipated that the apprehended individuals will shortly make their appearance before the Malamulele Magistrate Court, where they will be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of suspected precious metals. The SAPS has pledged to maintain its endeavours to eradicate unlawful activities from the vicinity and safeguard the well-being and protection of the local populace.
