In a recent podcast interview with host Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy show, Ciara opened up about her past relationship with rapper Future. The singer shared that she came to the realization that their relationship was not going to work out in the long-term after the birth of their first child. Ciara, who is 37 years old and a successful hitmaker, spoke candidly about her experience.

Ciara, who is currently expecting her fourth child and third with her husband, Russell Wilson, compared realizing that her ex was not the one for her to a change in taste. She stated that it was like her taste buds had changed. Ciara advised that it’s important to reflect on oneself and consider what could be done differently in life. She mentioned that she was in search of change but was uncertain as to what that meant.

 

Ciara and Future, whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Cash, started their relationship in 2012, and in May 2014, they welcomed their son, Future Zahir. However, by August of that year, they had split due to his alleged infidelity. According to Ciara, becoming a mother made her more responsible and serious, which Future was not.

For Ciara, being in a relationship meant seeking joy and making sure her cup was full. However, her time with Future left her feeling depleted and tired. She realized that she was tired and did not want to be tired all the time. Ciara stated that these were the thoughts that came to mind when she made a pivotal moment in her life.

 

In 2015, she began dating quarterback Russell Wilson, and by March of 2016, they were engaged. The couple tied the knot in a castle in Cheshire, England, in July of that year.
