The vehicle had been reported stolen from Phoenix, KZN, during the previous night, prompting immediate action from Reaction Officers.
Armed with GPS coordinates provided by Tracker, Reaction Officers swiftly located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a lodge on Oaklands Drive in Oaklands, KZN. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the registration plates had been removed, raising suspicions about the vehicle’s origin and ownership.
As the officers continued their investigation, they observed a male and female exiting one of the lodge’s rooms. Moving swiftly, RUSA members confronted the individuals and conducted a thorough search of their surroundings. Further evidence emerged when the male suspect was found to be in possession of a key that successfully started the stolen VW Polo. It was revealed that the ignition had been tampered with to accommodate the new key, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the suspect’s claims.
