The mysterious death of veteran journalist Rita Tinina, who was found dead inside her bedroom at the Brooklyn Spring apartment, has left Kenyans and fellow journalists in shock and grief over the incident. According to a reliable news source, the deceased lady, who had once worked for Standard, was living with her 9-year-old daughter and a maid. When the time clicked to go to work at Nation Media around 1 p.m., her colleagues were anxious about her lateness.
They ranged her, but none was able to make the call since it was in silence. The maid, whom she stayed with, moved to her bedroom and knocked several times after she noticed her time to leave for work was getting late. But since the door was unlocked from inside, she entered to check if her boss was present. Arriving and beeping on her bed, she found herself unable to stand, helpless, and not breathing.
Immediately, she dashed to her neighbours and called them while wailing, unhelpfully moving all sorts of corners without knowing what to do. Neighbours arriving at the scene rang police officers, who caned and took bodies. At the scene where the body was removed, nothing was found suggestive since she was just found sleeping normally but not breathing at all. Detectives took snapshots of the scene and moved the body to the mortuary, where a postmortem will be done today.
