Kenyans have been going through hard moments due to the harsh economic period that has been experienced in the country for a while now. What even shocked many is the price of Ugali shot like never before.
However, it appears there is a light at the end of the tunnel as a spot check has revealed that the price of 2kg Maize flour has dropped significantly. A spot check done by a local publication indicates that the prices of 2kg maize flour have dropped by between sh 30 – and sh 60 for the majority of the brands.
A two-kilogram packet of Oryx cost Sh186 while Pembe retailed at Sh149. Ndovu brand, meanwhile retailed at Sh168 while Soko, one of the most popular brands sold for Sh149 at most supermarkets. Jogoo maize flour, another popular brand, retailed a Sh 176 while 210 sifted maize meal retailed at Sh 172. The Mama brand sold for Sh 157 as Ndovu retailed at Sh 163.
This development which has been attributed to the booming harvest of Maize can finally instill hope and put a smile on the faces of Kenyans.
