Commissioner Adeboye further elucidated that the accused women leveled accusations of phone theft against Akhigbe, purportedly implicating her in the disappearance of an Android device belonging to one Blessing Lucky. Following Akhigbe’s compliance in returning the alleged stolen phone, the perpetrators, instead of recourse to lawful channels, resorted to a reprehensible course of action. Akhigbe was lured into a confined space, where she was subjected to physical assault, forced nudity, and menacing threats involving the application of pepper to her intimate areas. Disturbingly, the entire ordeal was documented via video recording and disseminated online.
In response to the filed complaint, law enforcement swiftly apprehended the accused individuals, who subsequently confessed to their involvement in the abhorrent act. Commissioner Adeboye, identifying the suspects as Blessing Lucky (15), Jennifer Eboigbe (30), Iziegbe Ogbodu (39), Naomi Ekhonetomwan (17), and Lucky Endurance (16), emphasized the gravity of the charges they face, including indecent assault and cyberstalking. Moreover, Adeboye underscored the imperative for citizens to refrain from vigilantism.

Jennifer Eboigbe said: “My daughter, Blessing, came to me and said that her phone was stolen, and after some days, we retrieved the phone from Christabel. The girl begged me that they shouldn’t beat her but despite my plea, they went ahead and stripped her naked. I am ashamed of what they did because I am a mother,” she said.
