The Confederation of All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, in recent news published by Politics Nigeria, has leveled serious allegations against key opposition figures, accusing them of amassing wealth while ordinary Nigerians struggle.

At a press conference held in Abuja on Saturday, the director-general of the APC support group, Mohammed Kailani, specifically targeted Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Kailani urged both opposition leaders to prioritize addressing internal issues within their political parties before offering advice or commentary on national affairs. He emphasized the need for realistic strategies grounded in evidence and comprehensive planning to tackle the challenges facing their parties.

The director-general alleged that Peter Obi has approximately $1 trillion deposited in Fidelity Bank, while Atiku Abubakar purportedly possesses a similar amount stashed in various locations globally. Kailani argued that these vast sums could have been invested domestically to alleviate poverty and create job opportunities for ordinary Nigerians.

Highlighting the recent defeats suffered by the opposition, Kailani accused them of engaging in “wishful thinking politics” to mask their disappointment.

Furthermore, Kailani rallied support for President Bola Tinubu, urging opposition leaders to refrain from distracting the president and allow him to remain focused on addressing national issues.

His words:

“I advise both opposition leaders, henceforth, to first strategise on how to solve the problems in their political parties first.

“They should do this by using strategies that are grounded in realism, evidence and comprehensive planning in addressing the complex challenges they have before coming out to talk or advise an administration that is doing well.

“The opposition leaders pretend when making comments that they wish the country well, especially when Peter Obi of the Labour Party has about $1 trillion kept in his bank, Fidelity Bank.

“And, Atiku Abubakar, having about the same amount stashed around the world, monies they could have invested in the country to help the masses of the country get employment and pull out of poverty.”
