Governors under the platform of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, once again called for the establishment of state police when they visited Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State over the recent deteriorating security situation in the state.
Daily Post report that, the PDP governors, who donated N100 million to help cater to the victims of the attacks, said having state police will help stem the tide of the recurring security challenges bedevilling the country.
This was said by Bala Muhammad, the governor of Bauchi State and chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, during the forum’s solidarity visit to Gov. Mutfwang at Government House, Rayfield, Jos.
The visit was in response to the recent security breach in several communities in the state that resulted in numerous fatalities as well as the destruction of homes and other means of subsistence for locals.
Governor Muhammad said:
“We offer our deepest condolences for the recent tragic events that have taken many lives and properties, as well as our sympathies to you and the people of Plateau State.
