Obianuju Catherine Udeh, also known as DJ Switch, a Nigerian disc jockey, has voiced her disagreement with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, over his recent sermon.
She criticized the pastor’s repeated call for Nigerians to pray for the country instead of addressing the root cause of its problems. DJ Switch subtly questioned the pastor’s anointing.
She submitted that even Jesus Christ called out corruption point blank but Pastor Adeboye kept acting otherwise.
“Pastor Adeboye constantly urging Nigerians to pray for Nigeria…but rarely calls out the cause of Nigeria’s woes! Rarely calls them out for a failure to serve. The Jesus you worship served and called out corruption point blank! Some of una go say touch not my anointed! Anointing wey no dey anoint,” DJ Switch Said on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the cleric had prayed to God to heal Nigeria, asking citizens to also pray for the betterment of the nation.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church said this on Sunday during the church’s October Thanksgiving Service and Nigeria’s 63rd Independent Day celebration.
He spoke on the topic ‘Freedom Indeed’ during the service, and was quoted as saying: “I pray in the name that is above every other name that God will heal our nation.
“Independence is talking about freedom, that is why we would be talking about freedom indeed. You may be enjoying independence from the colonial master and still be a slave to sickness, poverty, terror, and forces of darkness.
“I am wishing you a very good celebration but more than anything else, I wish all of you who are in Christ freedom and freedom indeed.”
