The Chairman of the Ondo All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Election Committee Governor Usman Ododo, has declared Lucky Aiyedatiwa as winner of the primary election.
The declaration was made at the International Culture and Event Centre (DOME), Akure on Sunday night.
The exercise which held on Saturday , April 20 in the 18 council areas and 203 wards in the state was marred by violence and irregularities with many aspirants calling for cancellation.
Dockaysworld recalls that President Tinubu and the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) reportedly endorsed Aiyedatiwa for the November 16 gubernatorial election.
He has now defeated top aspirants like Olusola Oke, Olugbenga Edema, Wale Akinterinwa, and Jimoh Ibrahim to clinch the governorship ticket.
Aiyedatiwa became the governor of the state on December 27, 2023, following the demise of his principal, Rotimi Akeredolu.
