Otunba Henry Dele Ajomale, who happens to be a lawyer, technocrat, a former Commissioner for Special Duties, and the immediate past chairman of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, during an interview with The Guardian, spoke on the state of the nation, 2023 general elections, among other issues.
After winning the presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had said that the election that brought him into office was the most credible in the country’s history. While reacting to this statement, Dele Ajomale said that the president was right to have made such a statement.
He said,
“Look at Labour Party (LP), did Obi lose any of the state in the Southeast ? No! He did not lose anywhere but Asiwaju lost in Lagos State! How can you now find election’s credibility more than that ? Lost here, gain there; and that made up the number. So, to me, it is still the most credible election.”
Ajomale said that this time around, it was a tough one, as it used to be between the two political parties before in the country, but another political party was able to influence it as well.
Further talking, he said,
“Do not you know how many political parties have members in the House of Representatives, and the Senate ? Unlike before where only two political parties have their members in both houses.”
