On Monday, a group of more than 10,000 Christians from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory expressed their surprise at President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Christians to important positions, despite the All Progressives Congress (APC) adopting a Muslim-Muslim ticket. This group, called the All Christian Youths in Northern Nigeria (ACYNN), made their statement.
A group of over 10,000 Christians from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory expressed their surprise and gratitude towards President Bola Tinubu for appointing Christians to key positions despite the Muslim-Muslim ticket adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The All Christian Youths in Northern Nigeria (ACYNN) held a solidarity walk to congratulate the president on his victory at the tribunal and inclusive government.
In a letter co-signed by its national president and four others, the group commended the President for appointing Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa, and other Christians to his government. They expressed their appreciation for the choice of Musa, a Christian from Kaduna, to lead the Armed Forces, as he understands the impact of insecurity in the state and other parts.
The group applauded Tinubu’s leadership style, centered on ingenuity and inclusiveness, and called on all well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with his administration in propelling Nigeria towards progress. They also appealed to Christians and Nigerians in general to unite in prayer for the well-being of Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
