The Film Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) says it generated N482m in revenue from all cinemas in Nigeria in July.
CEAN National Chairman Opeyemi Ajayi said this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
Ajayi said that the total admission of viewers in federation cinemas during the month under review was 218,395.
The president told NAN that theaters experienced a slight increase in patronage in July due to the many holidays.
It encouraged more Nigerians to consider visiting theaters during their free time to relax.
“We recorded total sales of N482,528,117 in July with 218,395 viewers in theaters. Cinemas are not doing badly, but we encourage more Nigerians to cultivate the habit of visiting cinemas,” he said.

He said that the films that will be showing in theaters in August are Akudaaya, Meg 2, Teenage Mutant Minja, A Bag of Trouble, Blue Beetle, Mikolo, The Modern Woman, Retribution and Kesari.
NAN reports that the amount generated in July is lower than the N567m generated in June.
Also, while the total admission of movie theaters in July was 218,395, it was lower in June at 210,299.
