Nigerian singer Rema made a surprise visit to the Benin neighbourhood where he grew up, attracting a large crowd as residents poured out to catch a glimpse of him.
In videos shared online, excited fans and neighbours surrounded the artist, with several calling him by his real name, Divine, as he made his way through familiar streets.
Rema was seen hugging some of the people he recognised, smiling and briefly interacting before moving on.
