However, the Nigerian Prison swiftly refuted these claims, affirming that Bobrisky will be housed in the male section throughout his incarceration. According to Sahara Reporters, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service clarified this stance, citing Bobrisky’s admission of being male as the basis for the decision.
Furthermore, the prison official assured that Bobrisky would receive adequate protection from potential harassment by other inmates. This assurance aims to alleviate concerns regarding possible mistreatment, emphasizing the prison’s commitment to ensuring Bobrisky’s safety.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court handed down the sentence after Bobrisky pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of naira abuse.
