According to former transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi, Nigerian citizens tend to vote for politicians who have a history of corruption, including those who have been involved in theft and certificate forgery.
At a recent event in Lagos, Amaechi expressed his disappointment in the Nigerian people for supporting corrupt politicians despite knowing their criminal records. He questioned whether any politician has ever admitted to being a thief, revealing their educational qualifications or disclosing whether they had served in the National Youth Service Corps.
Amaechi accused Hadiza Bala Usman, President Bola Tinubu’s adviser and former Nigeria Ports Authority boss, of spreading unverifiable lies against him in her book.
Lagos Reporters recalls that Amaechi lost to Tinubu during the 2023 APC presidential primary election.
