The Naira depreciated against the US dollar in investors and exporters (I&E) on Wednesday, market data published in the FMDQ website presented.

The national currency also fell further on the unofficial market, inching towards the N1000/$1 mark.

In the official window, market data released on Wednesday showed that the Naira closed at N782.38 for $1.
The local unit moved within an intraday range of N730.00 (high) and N800.00 before settling at N782.38 at the close of business.
That amount implies a decrease of N24.87 or 3.3 per cent from the rate the local unit exchanged against the dollar in the previous session on Tuesday, with $60.26 million recorded as foreign exchange supply in the trading period.

On the black market, Newslodge concluded that the dollar was traded at N905.00 and sold at N910.00 amid rising inflation and demand for foreign currency in the country.
In the past three months since the measure to unify rates came into force, the naira has continued to fall on the official market to trade at N782.38 and above the N465.13 per dollar mark that was trading in mid-May. .
