Nollywood actor, John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu, is dead.
The legendary comic actor died on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, after undergoing five surgeries last year.
A reliable source privy to the information about his death revealed that the actor died in Evercare hospital, Lekki, Lagos State, on Saturday evening at about 5pm.
Last year, Mr Ibu’s family revealed the number of surgeries the actor had undergone.
The family said: “We want to thank God and most especially the general public for their support, encouragement, and prayers during this trying period for our dad,” the post read.
“We called on Good Nigerians and we are very grateful for the response in every aspect most especially the donations, it came in very timely and very helpful.
“So far, Daddy has gone through five successful surgeries, and he is still recovering in the ICU. Daddy is immensely grateful and we are thankful to the general public during this phase of our lives.”
Prior to now, Mr Ibu was bedridden.
In viral Instagram videos, the comic actor solicited the prayers and financial assistance of his fans.
The comic actor said he has been hospitalised because of “a strange and dangerous illness”.
