Mr. Alex Otti has reported that the repair of damaged roads in Abia state has commenced.

Governor Alex Otti has declared that his administration is committed to building quality roads that would promote trade and commercial activities in Abia. He made this known on Sunday during the inauguration of the MCC/Old Express Road in Aba.

According to the governor, the provision of good quality roads is essential for the growth and development of businesses in the state. He further revealed that his administration had awarded contracts for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of some economically important roads.

Mr Otti emphasized that the reconstructed road was a positive indication that the government had commenced a comprehensive restoration of Aba and other parts of the state. He therefore urged potential investors to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that abound in Abia.

The governor also reiterated the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, while supporting the growth of enterprises and setting up a safe haven for legitimate investments. He added that the government would continue to evolve policies that would facilitate the creation of the best investment paths and partnerships, in order to better serve the people.

Mr Otti also disclosed that the government had taken steps to address the issue of perennial flooding in Aba permanently, and had awarded contracts for the reconstruction of economically important roads in the local government areas. He further stated that the state had entered into a special multilateral funding arrangement that would enable the reconstruction of several other roads in about nine LGAs, with the aim of boosting agriculture productivity and produce marketing.
