Manchester United advanced to the fourth round of the League Cup at the expense of its opponents on Saturday. Erik ten Hag’s men won 3-0 at home on Tuesday, giving them back-to-back victories for the first time this season. The victory follows last weekend’s 1-0 victory away to Burnley, which ended a run of three consecutive defeats.
United will now look for their third consecutive victory, as they are in their best form this season. The hosts are already nine points behind the leaders and five points behind the top five. They have won three of their six league games while losing the other three.
Crystal Palace have hit a hitch and are without a win in their last three games. They have lost twice and conceded three times in both games.
Roy Hodgson’s men have similarly failed to score in their last two games, having drawn 0-0 with Fulham before losing to United. Prior to this slump in form, the Londoners had gone three games unbeaten and had won twice.
Palace has won two of their six league games while also drawing two and losing two. Palace has recently done significantly better against United in the league. They have four points from the last three league games and will be hoping for more on Saturday.
