Liverpool have reportedly identified six possible alternatives after missing out on both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.The midfield pair have snubbed Liverpool in favour of moving to Chelsea in the last week, despite having bids accepted for both.Liverpool had been chasing Lavia for much of the summer, having three bids rejected, before lodging an audacious £111m bid for Caicedo, which was accepted by Brighton & Hove Albion.However, Caicedo remained firm on his stance that Chelsea was his preferred destination and his move to Stamford Bridge was confirmed on Monday.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a surprise deal to sign Stuttgart and Japan midfielder Wataru Endo.The Reds have been working overtime to find a new number six since Fabinho joined the Liverpool midfield exodus in a £40m move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.Both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia were wanted by the Anfield board, and the Reds agreed a £110m deal for the former before Chelsea swooped in with a successful £115m offer.Liverpool subsequently turned their attention to Southampton’s £50m-rated teenager Lavia and belatedly had a fee accepted by the Saints, but Chelsea proved to be the thorn in their side once more.

Roma have confirmed the signing of Argentinian midfielder Leandro Paredes on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain.The 29-year-old returns to the Giallorossi following a three-year spell at the club between 2014 and 2017, during which he played 54 games and scored four goals.Paredes – who was loaned out to Empoli during his time with Roma before joining Zenit St Petersburg in 2017 – has signed a two-year contract with Jose Mourinho’s side until the end of the 2024-25 season, and PSG will receive more than €4m (£3.4m) for his sale.”Coming back to Rome is always a special thing, but doing so now as a Roma player is even more special,” the South American told the official Roma website.
