Kenyans have made fun of Mumias East MP Peter Salasya after taking to his Facebook page to announce a visit to South Africa’s known movie actor gods must be crazy.
In the post, Salasya, who has largely been likened to the famous actor N! Xau Toma, announced that he was in Limpopo state in South Africa heading towards the Namibia border home of the famous actor.
He, however, regretted that the actor died in 2003 while on a hunting mission along the borderline of Namibia and South Africa before the two could meet.
“Now heading to southern Limpopo but unfortunately our actor of the gods must be crazy papa Toma left us while he had gone hunting in the forest in 2003 in the month of July we are still mourning the death of our legend, we are suspecting he was killed by animals in the big forest separating south africa and Namibia” read Salasya’s post
This came at a time when the MP has been largely likened to the famous actor, with many claiming that his face and air resemble the famous bushman
Toma was a Namibian bush farmer and actor who starred in the 1980 film The Gods Must Be Crazy and its sequels, in which he played the Kalahari Bushman Xixo.
However, witty Kenyans took to Salasya’s post, making fun of how the MP was allegedly visiting his ancestors in the region. Others wondered whether he was one of them, especially after Embakasi MP Babu Owino recently associated the MP with the actor.
